After her first year of teaching, Erica Williams was approached with the opportunity to return to her previous position as a news anchor. She packed up her classroom, threw away supplies, and said her goodbyes as she prepared to leave a career in education in the past, but something was telling her she wasn’t finished. The words “Remember Why You Started,” were a reminder that Williams was right where she needed to be, and she’s now entering her third year of teaching Journalism and Creative Writing at Martin Luther King College Jr. Prep.
Dont be discouraged if your first day, your first week, or your first year doesn’t work out as you planned. Take heed in the advice you’re given, but allow yourself to create your own perception and find your own way.
